The Hitchhiking Parcel Network is a global Peer2Peer shipping community that distributes logistic processes among its noncommercial members. The system, which includes a specially developed box, is designed to operate in a scenario in which a personal "CO2 Account" influences people’s way of life. The parcel itself can basically be regarded as a "hitchhiker" that looks out for other members of the community traveling to the same final destination. Keeping Points are frequented by shippers, senders and recipients, who either pick parcels up or hand them over. Safety issues are addressed through real-time parcel monitoring. A global environmental benefit is achieved thanks to a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions.
